Closure of the Inclusive Beach Season in Odesa

28 September 2025

On September 27, the wellness season officially closed at the inclusive beach located at the 11th station of the Great Fountain in Odesa.

Since its reopening on July 1 after extensive renovations, the beach has welcomed over 25,000 visitors with disabilities and their companions. Twelve trips were organized for 300 mobility-impaired residents of Mykolaiv. Mykolaiv City Council member Yuriy Stepanyets noted that from the outset of the full-scale invasion, Odesa has been providing Mykolaiv with drinking water and now offers people with disabilities the freedom to enjoy the sea.

Odesa's Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov emphasized that the city has ambitious plans for the development of inclusive recreation areas. He promised to create a specialized base for veteran rowers.

«Currently, we are implementing three barrier-free routes in Odesa: “North - South” in partnership with the Ministry of Development, a tourist route through the city center, and a wellness route that combines the sea, sun, adaptive sports, and community leisure»,
 — stated Hennadiy Trukhanov.

Throughout the day, many heartfelt thanks were expressed to those who made the creation and maintenance of this special territory possible. Deputy Mayor and veteran of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Serhiy Kotsyuba admitted that he would miss the weekly meetings at the beach with his comrades and eagerly awaits the next season.

In the coming days, conservation measures will be taken to preserve the inventory and prepare for the new wellness season.
