Inclusive Beach Opens in Odesa: New Opportunities for Everyone
On July 1, 2025, an inclusive beach was officially opened at the 11th station of the Great Fountain in Odesa. This initiative marks a significant step towards creating an accessible environment in the city, allowing veterans, individuals with disabilities, and other mobility-impaired groups to enjoy recreation.
The inclusive beach serves as a prime example of how spaces can be transformed for diverse populations. This was stated by Tetiana Lomakina, the President of Ukraine's Commissioner for Barrier-Free Environment, following her visit to Odesa. She praised the municipal efforts in developing the beach, emphasizing that the construction process was constantly monitored to ensure compliance with accessibility standards.
“Step by step, we are making the coastline a barrier-free space. The beach is rarely empty, attracting both tourists and locals,” said the Commissioner for Barrier-Free Environment.
