New Silver Coins Released for Ukraine's Independence Day
On August 24, ahead of Independence Day, the National Bank of Ukraine introduced a new set of silver coins titled «National Symbols of Ukraine».
This set is dedicated to the essential elements of our statehood — the Coat of Arms, the Anthem, and the Flag of Ukraine.
The symbols that surround us can either unite or disorient, and the state symbolism always speaks to the deep connections among all citizens.
«These are signs recognized by millions of Ukrainians around the world.
I proudly present another numismatic addition that we have prepared for Ukraine's Independence Day», stated the Chairman of the NBU, Andriy Pyshnyy.
This set of commemorative coins «National Symbols of Ukraine» is made of silver and is dedicated to the main attributes of Ukrainian statehood — the coat of arms, the flag, and the anthem.
The Trident is a symbol of the legacy of the Kievan State under Volodymyr the Great, representing unity, freedom, and the right to self-determination.
The blue and yellow Flag symbolizes the colors of the sky and wheat, representing prosperity, natural resources, and Ukraine's flourishing.
The Anthem «Ukraine Has Not Yet Perished» is a song that has uplifted the nation's spirit for over a century and calls to fight.
«The symbols of the state live in the hearts of each of us. They unite generations, shape national memory, and remind us that freedom is a value we carry through time! They are immortalized in coins, reminding us that Ukraine's independence is built on a strong foundation — our unity, dignity, and memory», the NBU chairman explained about the spiritual significance of the new coins.
