Ensuring Safe Beach Access in Odesa
According to the order from the head of the Odesa regional military administration, beaches can only be opened after all safety measures are completed and the appropriate act is obtained from the Odesa district military administration.
Currently, 30 beach areas in the city have official permission to operate, having undergone underwater inspections, and established rescue stations and shelters to ensure safe recreation.
At the same time, there are areas that either have not fully implemented these measures or have not done so at all.
The staff of the city's territorial engineering protection department, along with the National Police, conducted inspections of such beaches.
«If a beach is found to be operating without permission, reports are drawn up, the police are called, and documents are sent to the district and regional military administrations for further action. The measures to prevent citizens from accessing these areas are decided by the regional and district military administrations. The city council can, within its powers, initiate the termination of contracts with tenants through the court», said Yaroslav Bohachenko, head of the territorial engineering protection department of the Odesa City Council.
The city authorities emphasize that the operation of beaches without official permission constitutes a violation that poses risks to the safety of visitors.
