Streamlining Military Award Processes

12 August 2025

The Ministry of Defense has introduced a new initiative aimed at significantly reducing the time required to prepare and submit documents for awarding military personnel with state honors for their combat achievements.

This information was shared by the ministry's press service.

«The Ministry has developed a new framework that simplifies and accelerates these processes. Military units will send award materials to the military authority they report to. From there, the documents will be directed straight to the leadership of the Armed Forces for consideration. Each of these stages should take no more than two days. Then, the documents will be forwarded to the Office of the President. This entire process will take between 8 to 16 days», the statement reads.

Previously, this procedure could take anywhere from 3 to 8 months, as it required passing through multiple layers of approvals and agreements. Many documents were filled out manually.

The Ministry also mentioned that they are currently exploring the possibility of displaying the state award certificate in the electronic service Diia. Suggestions will be sent to the relevant authorities for further consideration.
