Celebrating 200 Years: New Stamp from the Odessa Archaeological Museum

02 August 2025

The Odessa Archaeological Museum, in collaboration with “Ukrpost”, has launched a special stamp to celebrate its 200th anniversary.

This announcement was made on the museum's official page.

The stamp features some of the most iconic artifacts from the collection of the Odessa Archaeological Museum.

“These treasures are currently kept in the dark of the storage, waiting for better times. But while they wait, you can have them in the size of 29.58x33 mm”, – the message states.

It is worth noting that the Odessa Archaeological Museum of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine is the oldest archaeological museum in the country, celebrating its 200th anniversary this year, and holds the largest collection of Egyptian antiquities in Ukraine. Among these are sarcophagi, mummified remains, stelae, ushabti, scarabs, amulets, fragments of papyrus, and more. This unique collection was formed in the 19th to early 20th century.
