Tragedy at Sea: Explosion Claims Lives

Last night, July 23, a tragic incident occurred involving a dredger owned by the «Delta-lotsman» branch of the state enterprise «Administration of Sea Ports of Ukraine».

This was reported by the AMPU press service on Facebook.

The vessel was conducting scheduled operations at the "Bystre" mouth with a crew of 11 members.

As a result of the explosion, three AMPU employees lost their lives. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the families of the deceased. Other crew members are currently receiving necessary medical assistance in the hospital.

Emergency services are working at the scene. Details of the incident are being clarified, and more information will be provided later.

The state enterprise «Administration of Sea Ports of Ukraine» will provide all necessary support to the families of the victims and those affected by the incident.

The maritime channel at the "Bystre" mouth is temporarily closed to vessel traffic. Ships to/from the Danube ports are currently being directed through the Sulina Canal.
