Collaborative Development of New Drone Countermeasures
The Ukrainian company Odd Systems has announced a strategic partnership with the Danish defense conglomerate Terma Group to collaborate on an affordable drone interceptor based on artificial intelligence.
The press release emphasized that the main challenge of interceptor drones lies in the integration of detection, tracking, and interception of enemy UAVs using other autonomous means.
Moreover, the types of Russian drones that need to be countered vary significantly: from FPV and tactical drones like the Mavic to fixed-wing operational UAVs like the Zala and long-range strike drones like the Shahed.
"Terma and Odd Systems will combine their existing solutions while developing a comprehensive suite of products to counter these and other aerial threats," noted Odd Systems.
Odd Systems is a defense technology company headquartered in Kyiv, specializing in the development and production of thermal imaging cameras and FPV drones.
It supplies the FPV air interceptor platform Horskaya-12, as well as strike FPV platforms called "Stus-7" and "Lupinis-10". The company has also developed and manufactured thermal imaging cameras for FPV drones Kurbas-256 and Kurbas-640 in Ukraine.
Terma A/S is the largest Danish manufacturer of defense and aerospace products for both civilian and military applications. The company offers radar systems, avionics, and space electronics. Additionally, Defense Express reminds that Terma is a supplier of components for the F-35.
Recently, the director of the Defense Procurement Agency, Arsen Jumadilov, stated that the agency has contracted tens of thousands of interceptor drones.
