Odessa's Recovery Efforts After the Storm

06 September 2024

Approximately 1500 public service workers are on the streets of Odessa. Efforts continue to address the aftermath of the storm that affected the city on September 4-5.

As of the morning of September 6, it was reported that 40 trees and large branches have fallen in Odessa. Information is still coming in.

Greenery workers from the municipal enterprise “City Green Trust” and “Housing and Communal Services” are systematically cutting up and removing fallen trees and branches. Priority is given to locations where trees obstruct traffic or access to important social facilities.

Specialists from the municipal enterprise “City Roads” are performing maintenance on stormwater drain grates, manholes, and collectors. They clean sand and dirt washed onto the streets by rainwater both manually and with special equipment.

Additionally, due to the storm, there have been reports of damage to street lighting networks at 30 addresses. Specialists from the municipal enterprise “Odessa City Light” are working to restore these networks.

Furthermore, public services continue their routine work to clean the territories under their jurisdiction, collecting and removing fallen leaves and miscellaneous debris.
