Heroic Canine: How Elsa Saved an Elderly Man's Life
In Odessa, a service dog named Elsa became a true hero by saving the life of an elderly man. Together with her handler, Marina Novitska, they located a 74-year-old man who had gone missing the previous day.
After nearly a day of unsuccessful searches, the family sought help from the police.
“The grandfather disappeared unexpectedly, and the family's search yielded no results. When they contacted law enforcement, the dog picked up a scent and led us. In the rain, at night, Elsa worked tirelessly until she found the man unconscious but alive in a field near the village of Delzhyler,” said Andriy Nebytov, Deputy Head of the National Police.
The police called for medical assistance, which provided necessary help to the victim.
Andriy Nebytov added that service dogs are invaluable assistants in the daily work of the police.
