Drone Technology Enhances Fire Monitoring in Odesa Region

04 July 2025

In the Odesa region, rescue teams are employing drones to monitor fire situations actively. This technology allows for timely detection of fires and effective coordination of firefighting efforts. Drones are also used to locate individuals who intentionally start fires.

This was reported by the press service of the State Emergency Service.

"The number of fires in open areas is increasing daily. According to the data from the Southern-Western Environmental Inspectorate, the damages from fires in the ecosystems of Odesa have already exceeded 24 billion hryvnias in 2025. To respond promptly, rescuers are utilizing drones for monitoring," the message states.

Drones provide the ability to:

  • detect fires at early stages;
  • efficiently coordinate actions;
  • document offenders who deliberately ignite dry vegetation.
