Revamped Inclusive Beach Opens in Odesa

A new inclusive beach has been opened at the 11th station of the Great Fountain in Odesa, meeting all international standards for accessibility, safety, and ecology. 

The official inauguration of this updated municipal beach, which has received the «AES Standard» certificate (a document confirming compliance with international quality and safety standards), took place on July 1.

The reconstructed beach serves as a model of inclusive infrastructure. Thanks to the collaboration of the city government, expert groups, partners, and builders, the project was completed in a short time frame. 

The inclusive beach features special ramps, modern restrooms, and showers designed to accommodate individuals with disabilities. There is also a medical station and shelter. Furthermore, the beach post-renovation offers convenient pathways and accessible infrastructure elements, verified by experts and users. 

At the opening ceremony, military veterans, individuals with disabilities, families with children, and elderly people were present. 

«Today, residents can see that the renovated beach has been created with care and consideration for everyone. We continue to systematically work on improving accessibility, developing rehabilitation services, and fostering an inclusive environment, particularly along the Odesa coastline,» emphasized Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov. 

Recently, an inclusive multi-sport playground was opened at the «Dolphin» beach.
