Enhancing Accessibility in Odesa

24 June 2025

In Odesa, the creation of a new accessibility route is currently underway.

The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy has unveiled an official design for communications as part of the implementation of the National Strategy for creating an accessible environment by 2030.

This design system includes:

  • a unique logo;
  • coordinated guidelines for font and color usage;
  • a visual system,
  • based on six areas of accessibility:
  • physical,
  • informational,
  • educational,
  • digital,
  • civic,
  • economic.

Each area is represented as a distinct point in the logo. Together, they form a circle — a symbol of unity, inclusion, and equal access for all, regardless of individual characteristics.

This logo is currently being used for marking the accessibility route in Odesa.

This is a significant part of a broader initiative led by Odesa's mayor, Hennadiy Trukhanov, within the framework of the pilot project "Movement without Barriers." Marking is carried out by expert groups from the Accessibility Council with the involvement of people with disabilities, urban planners, and accessibility professionals.
