New Inclusive Sports Facility Opens in Odesa

21 June 2025

A new inclusive multi-sports ground has been opened on the Black Sea coast in Odesa.

This initiative continues the efforts to enhance the sports infrastructure within the Health Trail program.

From the moment of its inauguration, various sports activities took place at the facility. The upper level hosted warm-ups before boxing matches, karate master classes, and strength training sessions. The middle level became a hub for sambo, table tennis, and wushu. On the lower level, war veterans and individuals with disabilities tested inclusive exercise machines, and a master class on adaptive Muay Thai was conducted by world champion Vasyl Sorokin.

Attendees at the opening ceremony included Odesa’s mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov, local government representatives, veterans' organizations, sports federations, benefactors, people with disabilities, and youth.

The mayor emphasized the significance of accessible sports infrastructure, which encourages the community to adopt a healthy lifestyle and unites residents even in challenging times. He noted that the opening of this facility is a result of fruitful cooperation among the authorities, businesses, and the active community.

“This space was created thanks to those who do not seek fame but are determined to change the city for the better. It meets all standards and is accessible to everyone: residents, visitors, individuals with disabilities, families with children, and of course, veterans who need physical activity, rehabilitation, and support,” said Hennadiy Trukhanov.

The inclusive sports facility is equipped with 12 modern exercise machines, a boxing ring, a crossfit area, a gymnastics complex, rehabilitation machines, table tennis tables, and everything necessary for comfortable and effective sports activities.
