New Stamp Released for World Blood Donor Day

14 June 2025

In honor of World Blood Donor Day, «Ukrposhta» has introduced a new stamp titled «Chance for Life», celebrating those who donate blood, as well as medical staff and volunteers.

«Together with the DonorUA initiative, we want to say: you are the ones who keep hearts beating», the company’s press service stated.

Ukrposhta reminded that during the first week of the full-scale invasion, 25 thousand new donors joined the DonorUA platform, and since 2022, the database has grown fivefold to 200 thousand people.

«In the third year of the great war, when every drop can change fate, the need for donors remains high. Blood saves injured soldiers, civilians affected by shelling, mothers in complications, cancer patients, and those undergoing complex surgeries. Sometimes, it is the only hope», the company added.

The new stamp «Chance for Life» is called a symbol of «a drop that becomes a sea, and kindness that turns into a chanceю»

«This is our gratitude and an important reminder: your drop of blood is someone’s future. If you are willing and healthy, join us! Becoming a donor is simple and offers a chance for life», said the CEO of Ukrposhta, Ihor Smiliansky.

The stamp features a couple holding a heart and filling it with blood. The design was created by Ukrainian artist Liza Markina.

«The shortage of donor blood existed in Ukraine even before the full-scale war, and today this issue has become more critical than ever. Despite all medical advancements, there are still no full-fledged blood substitutes. Only we can share our blood with those in need», emphasized DonorUA co-founder Iryna Slavinська.

The circulation of the new stamp is 150 thousand copies, with 20 thousand «First Day» envelopes and 500 presentation folders.

The «Chance for Life» stamp can be purchased at Ukrposhta branches and on the company’s website.
