Celebrating Marine Corps Day: Heroes on the Frontline
May 23 marks Marine Corps Day in Ukraine.

Among those who extended their greetings to the marines were Commander of the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksiy Neizhpapa, Chief Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, and representatives of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
General Syrskyi highlighted the significance of the marine corps in Ukraine's history, noting that they have always played a crucial role in the defense of the country. “107 years ago, the first marine unit was established in Ukraine, and today their heroism continues to inspire the nation,” he stated.
He also emphasized that marines, despite challenges, continue to fight against the aggressor, particularly in Crimea and Eastern Ukraine. “They are not just soldiers – they are a symbol of our nation’s resilience,” Syrskyi added.
The Chief Commander expressed deep gratitude to all those defending the country and honored the memory of fallen heroes. “Glory to the Marine Corps! Glory to Ukraine!” he concluded.
Greetings from the Main Intelligence Directorate
The GUR also recognized the importance of marines who protect our borders. They characterized them as brave warriors capable of enduring the toughest combat conditions.
The intelligence agency reminded that from the very beginning of the war, marines stood on the front lines against the enemy in the south. “Eternal memory to those who gave their lives for freedom,” reads the greeting.

The Navy Commander emphasized that marines are an integral part of the country’s defense structure, demonstrating courage in all combat areas.
He called for honoring the memory of the fallen and supporting those who continue to fight. “Glory to the Marine Corps!” he summed up.
