Advancing Accessibility in Odessa

Today, May 21, 2025, an online meeting was held in Odessa, chaired by Deputy Minister for Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine, Natalia Kozlovska. 

The meeting included city council representatives, specifically: First Deputy Mayor of Odessa Oleksandr Filatov, Deputy Mayor Pavlo Vugelman, Advisor to the Mayor on accessibility issues Oleksii Morozov, and heads of executive bodies and relevant departments. 

Participants discussed the implementation of the «Barrier-Free Movement» initiative and the progress on the inclusive tram route «North-South». 

During the discussions, attention was focused on the technical aspects of the route's implementation, adapting infrastructure for persons with disabilities, veterans, and other mobility-impaired groups. 

Additionally, inter-agency coordination issues were raised. The «Barrier-Free Movement» project is part of the national strategy for accessibility, which Odessa is actively engaging in.
