Odessa's Commitment to Inclusivity and Development

12 May 2025

As part of the collaboration with the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine, Odessa is moving forward with the initiative «Accessibility for All».

At a recent meeting of the Accessibility Council chaired by the Mayor of Odessa, the first phase of the accessibility route was approved, set to be implemented in 2025. This section runs from Kishinevskaya Street to the Central Administrative Service Center of the Peresyp Administration.

The project encompasses comprehensive efforts to create an inclusive pedestrian environment: updating sidewalks, improving stop complexes, and ensuring infrastructure accessibility for all population groups.

«For several years, extensive work has been underway: replacing tracks, modernizing key transport hubs, and renewing rolling stock. In addition to tram connections, a pedestrian inclusive route is also planned. The city is prepared to cover a significant portion of the costs» - noted Odessa Mayor Gennady Trukhanov.

This is part of a larger initiative to develop the longest inclusive tram route in Ukraine, «North-South», for which 127 million hryvnias have already been allocated.
