New Postage Stamps Honoring Ukrainian Mothers
Ukrposhta has announced the release of a new series of stamps honoring Ukrainian mothers as part of the Mother's Day celebrations.
This new product will serve as a "symbol of respect and gratitude for mothers who have raised strong children".
"Despite the challenges of war, Ukrainians honor the women who have raised our nation. The new stamp from Ukrposhta is dedicated to mothers who blessed their children to defend the homeland, preserve the memory of the fallen, and those who have joined Ukraine's defense forces to ensure a future for their children in a free Ukraine", - the company stated.
The stamp titled "For Mother's Day. I Live Through You..." features the embrace of a woman in traditional Ukrainian attire and a soldier.
"The woman, symbolizing the mother, wraps her son in a bright yellow scarf with embroidery, her face expressing profound sorrow and tenderness", - added Ukrposhta.
The miniature was created by the honored artist of Ukraine, Oleksandr Okhapkin, who also designed the stamp "Under the Protection of the Mother of God".
The print run of the stamp will be 320,000 copies. Additionally, Ukrposhta will issue 20,000 "First Day" envelopes and 500 presentation folders. The cancellation with the special "First Day" stamp is planned to take place in Kyiv, with special cancellations across all regions of the country.
The stamp "For Mother's Day. I Live Through You..." will officially be released on May 9.
