Restoration of the Manor House

In the village of Vasylivka, Odesa district, the architectural heritage site known as the «Manor House» has been returned to municipal ownership. This property, which has been in a state of neglect for over 15 years, now belongs to the community again. This was reported by the Odesa regional prosecutor's office.

The building was constructed in 1845 as the family estate of General Ivan Dubytskyi, a participant in the Crimean War. The manor, designed in a classical style, was notable for its symmetry, columns, arched windows, and ornate facade. In 1937, the building was nationalized, and after World War II, it housed a school and administrative offices.

In 2010, during privatization, the manor was transferred to private ownership with conditions for care and restoration. However, prosecutors found that the new owner failed to meet these obligations. The building fell into disrepair due to weather conditions and vandalism.

On February 3, 2025, following a lawsuit by the prosecutor's office, the Economic Court terminated the purchase agreement and ordered the return of the property, which has an area of over 2300 square meters, to the community. On March 6, 2025, an acceptance transfer act was signed between the Vyhodianska Village Council and the defendant.

In addition to its architectural value, the manor is also associated with the name of Serhii Pankeev, known as the «Wolf-Man», a patient of Sigmund Freud. According to local legends, Pankeev regarded the manor as his ancestral heritage and frequently visited Vasylivka. The isolation room in the building's basement, according to residents, became the basis for legends about the «Lair of the Wolf».
