Environmental Assessment of the Black Sea Gully

On April 29, 2025, at the initiative of the Odessa city council, an inspection of the technical condition of the Black Sea gully was carried out, covering the area from the Old Lustdorf road to the beach ‘Chornomorka’.

The commission included representatives from the Department of Ecology, the district administration, and other relevant bodies responsible for municipal services and territorial protection.

During the inspection, unauthorized discharges of wastewater from some private residences directly into the gully were discovered. However, no wastewater was found to have entered the sea near the ‘Chornomorka’ beach.

As a result of the inspection, relevant services were instructed to promptly eliminate the identified illegal discharges and take action against those responsible.

Additionally, further inspections of other sections of the gully will be carried out to prevent potential unauthorized discharges in the future.
