Health Awareness Campaign in Odesa
Last week, Odesa held a large-scale event in honor of World Health Day.
This initiative was organized with the support of the Odesa City Health Department and the Odesa Health Center.
On that day, residents had the opportunity to receive free comprehensive health check-ups at primary healthcare centers and hospitals. Family doctors and specialists provided consultations, measured blood pressure, blood glucose levels, pulse, and conducted ECGs. Patients were issued electronic referrals for laboratory tests as necessary.
As a result of the campaign, 2536 residents of Odesa took advantage of the free medical check-ups. Additionally, with the assistance of the Kyiv district administration, 55 visitors and staff from the administrative building were examined.
During the check-ups, 331 cases of high blood pressure and 200 cases of elevated blood glucose levels were detected. After ECG tests, 258 patients were referred to a cardiologist.
For those requiring further examinations, doctors created 1112 electronic referrals for laboratory tests and 640 for consultations with specialists. All patients received medical consultations.
Health Days help in the timely detection of health issues, increase public awareness of prevention and early diagnosis, and remind citizens of the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
