Stroke Prevention Day in Odesa

On October 29, World Stroke Day, a special event focusing on the prevention and detection of stroke risk factors took place in Odesa. The event was organized with the support of the Odesa City Council's Health Department and the Odesa City Health Center.

On this day, anyone interested could undergo a free preventive check-up, which included measuring blood pressure, pulse rate, blood glucose levels, an ECG, and receiving referrals for laboratory tests if necessary, along with consultations from specialists. Doctors provided recommendations on stroke prevention.

As a result of the event, a total of 1735 patients underwent screenings. This enabled the identification of 294 cases of elevated blood pressure and 102 cases of increased blood glucose levels. A total of 867 ECGs were conducted, with 136 patients referred to a cardiologist. Laboratory tests were ordered for 895 individuals.
