New Health Initiatives in Odessa
In an effort to enhance the effectiveness of disease prevention, early detection, and timely treatment, the Odessa City Health Department has launched the «Health» program for 2024-2026, which includes free medical campaigns in Odessa.
In 2024, 29 Health Days for adults and children were organized under the initiative of the Health Department.
The main goal of these events is to increase public awareness about disease risk factors and encourage a healthy lifestyle.
During these campaigns, local doctors provided free health screenings across various specialties, including ophthalmology, dentistry, dermatology, gynecology, and others, along with vital measurements like blood pressure and glucose levels.
This year, a total of 40,911 individuals underwent medical screenings, of which 37,384 were adults and 3,527 were children. Among them, 13,378 individuals participated in cancer screenings.
All patients with identified health issues were referred to specialists for further treatment.
Additionally, this year saw active efforts to raise awareness about mental health. Under the «How are you?» initiative launched by the First Lady, around 1,000 residents of Odessa received psychological support.
