New Frontiers in Cardiology in Odesa

21 November 2025

The newly established cardiology and cardiac surgery department at City Clinical Hospital No. 11 in Odesa has treated nearly 1000 patients suffering from various heart conditions. Over this period, more than 600 cardiology patients and 370 surgical patients received medical assistance.
The department's doctors successfully performed nearly 900 surgical interventions, including 174 operations for acute myocardial infarction, with procedures like stenting and balloon angioplasty.
Additionally, vascular surgeries, thromboextractions for pulmonary embolism, and other essential procedures are conducted here.
Under the state medical guarantee program, 293 planned coronary angiographies were performed, and another 100 angiographies were completed for Odesa residents as part of the City Health program.
Patients receive medical care free of charge and particularly appreciate the comfortable conditions in the department.
The new cardiology department meets all accessibility requirements – a new elevator has been installed, inclusive restrooms are provided, and signs are in Braille. Accessible ramps and tactile paving are also in place at the entry.
Providing high-quality cardiology and cardiac surgery care enhances the capacity of the hospital and helps preserve the health and lives of patients with cardiovascular diseases. This is a significant step forward in the development of medicine in Odesa.
