Revamping Medical Facilities in Odesa: New Restoration Projects

As part of the latest phase of the Ukraine Recovery Program, implemented by the government in collaboration with the European Investment Bank, plans have been approved for the restoration of the surgical pavilion of the City Clinical Hospital No. 1 (Jewish Hospital) in Odesa.

This pavilion is recognized as an architectural landmark and one of the most beautiful structures of the hospital complex.

The renovation work will involve replacing the roof, restoring the building’s facades and gates, installing a wrought-iron fence, and creating artistic lighting for the facades and the entrance arch.

Additionally, a comprehensive update of the surgical pavilion’s interior will be undertaken to meet modern standards. To ensure appropriate conditions for patients and medical staff, finishing works will utilize specialized medical panels. There will also be replacements of internal engineering networks for ventilation, water supply, sewage, electricity, and oxygen supply, along with the installation of advanced medical equipment in operating rooms.

As part of the recovery program, capital repairs of the heating networks are also being carried out, with the installation of a modular boiler house, which will serve as the primary heat source for the hospital buildings, while the city’s heating networks will act as a backup.

The boiler house will operate automatically without the need for constant operational personnel, equipped with fire alarm systems and gas concentration monitoring with remote signal transmission.

Moreover, the renovation of other hospital buildings continues, funded by the Odesa city budget.

To enhance rehabilitation capabilities, repair and restoration work is being conducted in the former Economic Block, where a rehabilitation department is planned.

The two-story building will accommodate 20 beds, two sanitary blocks designed for the needs of persons with reduced mobility, physiotherapy rooms, assistive technology offices, therapy rooms, and additional facilities.

Additionally, a project has been developed for the construction of a civil protection facility for 375 places, equipped with three operating rooms and beds for critically ill patients.
