Rehabilitation Center in Odesa: A Major Project for Bionic Prosthetics

A groundbreaking rehabilitation initiative is being launched at City Hospital No. 5 in Odesa, which will integrate the production of bionic prosthetics.

The dedicated building of City Hospital No. 5 on Hetman Sahaidachny Boulevard, with all four floors and basement allocated for rehabilitation purposes, was visited by representatives from the German organization Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe, who came to Odesa to enhance collaboration.

«During the ongoing war, the German donor has been providing assistance to Odesa through the charity fund "Morning of Revival." Currently, representatives of Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe have arrived in our city with a proposal to support veterans,» – said Odesa City Mayor's advisor Veronika Etnarovych.

During their visit to the medical facility, the German partners highly praised the Odesa mayor's initiative and the scope of future works to establish a southern Ukrainian rehabilitation center.

The head of Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe in Ukraine, Mr. Adam McKerrow, expressed a desire to jointly explore opportunities for establishing bionic prosthetics production at the city hospital and to assist in training Ukrainian specialists in collaboration with German prosthetists.

«A tender has already been conducted, and a project for the rehabilitation center's renovation is being developed. I am grateful to our German partners for this initiative and support. I hope that soon we will have bionic prosthetics production established at our hospital,» – added Levon Nikogosyan, Director of the Health Department.
