Innovative Digital Tools in Education
At the Odessa Lyceum "European," as part of the Open Educational Forum #EducationOdessa – 2023, a conference titled "Establishing a Digital Educational Space: The Use of Artificial Intelligence in Teaching" was held.
The aim of the conference was to familiarize educators and the community with the latest digital and information technologies utilized in educational institutions, alongside the application of ChatGPT and other digital tools in the teaching process.
More than 200 participants attended the conference, including representatives from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the State Scientific Institution "Institute for Modernization of Education Content," the company "Unified School," the educational information system Eddy, heads and teaching staff from community educational institutions in Odessa, higher education institutions, as well as NGOs and international aid projects interested in implementing educational digital technologies.
The conference was opened by Iryna Stolbova, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Science of the Odessa City Council. In her speech, she outlined the main principles for implementing and realizing digital technologies in general secondary education institutions for the 2023/2024 academic year and emphasized the importance of adhering to current Ukrainian legislation when selecting digital products.
During the event, several panel discussions were held on the following topics:
- Digitalization of education during wartime and post-war periods;
- Creation of a digital educational space;
- Use of digital tools in educational institutions;
- Safe modern educational environment;
- Utilizing ChatGPT in educational activities.
As a result of the conference, a resolution was adopted highlighting the need to form a working group for the creation and maintenance of Ukraine's digital educational space. It also included suggestions for national educational program developers to comply with Ukrainian state standards, current legislation, personal data protection, and EU recommendations regarding the formation of electronic educational spaces.
The conference was organized by the Department of Education and Science of the Odessa City Council, the State Scientific Institution "Institute for Modernization of Education Content," and various companies offering digital systems and tools.
