Google Denies Security Threats to Gmail
02 September 2025
Google has denied claims concerning a serious security threat to Gmail, stating that no mass alerts were sent to users.
This situation arose from a phishing attack linked to Salesforce, which Google first reported in June, and on August 8 confirmed that all affected parties had been notified.
"We want to assure our users that Gmail's protection is reliable and effective". — stated the company.
Google representatives clarified that their protective measures block over 99.9% of phishing attempts and malicious attacks. The company also advises users to adopt more secure alternatives to passwords, such as passkeys, to maximize account security.
