Collaboration in Semiconductor Sector for Ukraine

The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine has signed a cooperation agreement with the National Semiconductor Association.

According to a statement from the Ministry, this collaboration will be part of implementing the Digital Development Strategy for Innovations until 2030 named WINWIN.

The agreement outlines key areas for development:

• implementing scientific developments into production;
• active participation in international initiatives;
• assisting Ukrainian companies in entering global markets;
• supporting startups through mentorship programs and funding;
• enhancing cybersecurity for semiconductor manufacturing systems;
• training specialists and creating specialized educational programs.

The ministry emphasized that chips are the backbone of nearly all digital products—from smartphones to spacecraft. Former Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, Valeria Ionan, stated that developing domestic chip production is a strategic response to global challenges. "This will help us reduce dependency on external markets, diversify the economy, and establish ourselves as a prominent player in global technological policy," Valeria Ionan remarked.

It has been announced today that Valeria Ionan has completed her term as Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation. She indicated that she will remain in the team and will work as an advisor to Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov on issues of innovation, digitalization, and global partnerships. According to her, this new role will allow her to continue working for the state "in a more strategic, larger-scale, and effective manner," focusing on innovation and international relations.

Recall that the Ministry of Digital Transformation is considering alternative options for small-scale chip production that could be implemented within the next 1-2 years.
