WhatsApp Web Media Hub: Streamlined File Management

27 May 2025

Meta has revealed a new feature for WhatsApp's web version that will enable users to efficiently manage and locate all media files shared in chats, as reported by WABetaInfo. This new media hub will serve as a centralized location for viewing images, videos, GIFs, documents, and links that have been sent or received across all chats.

The feature, which has been spotted in the messenger's beta version, will include a search function with caption support, the ability to sort files by date and size, and provide contextual information about documents and links, including the name of the contact who sent them and the date of transmission. Additionally, users will be able to select multiple files simultaneously for deletion, forwarding, or downloading.

Unlike the mobile version of WhatsApp, where media management is less user-friendly, the new web tool aims to make the process of finding and organizing files significantly easier. This feature is expected to become available in future updates, although the exact launch date remains unknown. This innovation could greatly enhance user experience, allowing for quick access to important files without the need to sift through each chat individually.
