Avatar: Fire and Ash Surpasses One Billion in Box Office

05 January 2026

The box office revenue for the third film in the franchise «Avatar: Fire and Ash» by Canadian director James Cameron has surpassed $1 billion within just 18 days of its release. This information was reported by Variety.
Overall, the film has grossed $1.083 billion at theaters, with $306 million coming from North America and $777.1 million from the rest of the world.
It is noted that the third installment of the «Avatar» franchise crossed the billion-dollar mark slightly slower than its predecessor.
The film «Avatar: The Way of Water» released in 2022 joined the billion-dollar club after only 14 days of release.
The first «Avatar» film from 2009 took 17 days to reach this milestone.
It remains to be seen whether «Avatar: Fire and Ash» can maintain its box office pace to exceed $2 billion globally.
Achieving this figure will largely depend on the international audience, which was responsible for the incredible success of the first two films.
The first «Avatar» earned $2.1 billion outside North America, while its sequel brought in $1.65 billion in international markets.
The third film «Avatar: Fire and Ash» grossed $450 million in its first week of release.
