A New Ballet Experience in Odessa

The Odessa National Opera is preparing for an exciting premiere of a new ballet project. On May 24, the theater stage will host the two-act ballet performance "Forest", inspired by Lesya Ukrainka's fairy drama "Forest Song".

According to the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications, this emotionally charged performance explores the intersection of nature and urban life, myth and modernity, legend and genuine emotions. The creative team aims to bring to life a complex world on stage, where every detail enhances the overall atmosphere.

Renowned Ukrainian artists contribute to the production: the theater's chief conductor, honored artist of Ukraine Vasyl Koval, choreographer and librettist, honored cultural figure Olesya Shlyakhtych, set designer Petro Bohomazov, and costume designer Maria Rudenko. Also involved in the project are video installation artist Andriy Savdeyev and lighting designer Pavlo Lytvynenko.

"Their collaborative artistic vision will bring to life the intricate, multi-layered world of Forest on stage, where every detail enriches the atmosphere and immerses the audience in a space where magic and human emotions meet the coldness of the modern technocratic world," stated the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications.

The performance promises to be a unique blend of classical ballet and modern technology, featuring video installations and special lighting design.
